2018 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, takes place in the summer of 2018 in Russia. The tournament will be played from 14th June 2018 to 15th July 2018 and 32 teams from across the world will compete in the big tournament.

The final tournament will involve 32 national teams, which include 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team. Of the 32 teams, 20 will be making back-to-back appearances following the last tournament in 2014, including defending champions Germany, while Iceland and Panama will both be making their first appearances at a FIFA World Cup. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on 15 July at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

With improved media services, FIFA wants to provide better media coverage of FIFA World Cup 2018. FIFA wants to provide free coverage for the fans. A total of 64 matches will be played in 11 cities of Russia. This event attracted a lot of competition for broadcasting rights and FIFA sold these rights at a very handsome price making it the biggest deal of any competition. According to official reports, this deal would generate a handsome amount of around $1.85bn (£1.15bn) for the cycle of 2018 to 2022. FIFA World cup rights are the major reason behind this amount.
